Becoming A Bronzed Goddess  You want to look like you stepped...

Becoming A Bronzed Goddess
You want to look like you stepped right off the beach and into your wedding dress. We can’t blame you, but far too many brides decide to hit the self-tanner or those dangerous tanning beds right before their big day. Instead of getting that sun-kissed glow you’re after, you may end up looking streaky, orange, or like a lobster (ouch). Please don’t make the same mistake Ross Geller did.

Getting Your Skin SUPER Fresh
After months of stressful planning, you want to pamper yourself. While the idea of a facial is very soothing, don’t fall for the trap! Facials, peels, microdermabrasion, and other salon treatments could actually irritate your skin before improving it. Give your skin some space in the days leading up to your wedding, and give these spa treatments the boot a few weeks before the big day.

Trying A Drastically New ‘Do
With all the excitement and anticipation of the main event, brides may feel tempted to spruce up their hairstyles. While Jennifer Lawrence may be able to rock a pixie cut, it’s probably not a risk you should take two weeks before your wedding. Most of us need some time to get used to a new look before we fully fall in love, so think twice before going a shade darker or trying bangs for the first time. When the photographer arrives, you might regret that one-time experiment, since it will be immortalized.

Working The Waxing Kit
Waxing at home is risky business. The hot wax and sticky strips can spell disaster if you’re inexperienced. Best to leave this task to the professionals. You don’t want to have to rely on makeup to fix an eyebrow mishap or upper-lip blunder! Red bumps, burns, and irritation are never a good look.

Popping Those Pesky Pimples
You’d think this one would be a no-brainer by now, but sometimes you just can’t resist. We know you know picking rarely does any good, so unless you want your skin to appear red and swollen, channel The Beatles and just “Let It Be.” Want to achieve complexion perfection? Try to relax, eat a balanced diet, and get plenty of rest.

Trying Out Teeth Whitening
A dazzling, white smile will definitely leave you looking confident, but it could also leave you feeling sensitive. If you don’t want to wince when you take your first sip of champagne, give your pearly whites at least two weeks to recover from any professional or DIY whitening.

Breaking Out The Botox
A quick Botox injection before the big day might sound like a rad idea, but before you say “I do” to the needle, it’s important to remember how serious this procedure is. It has lasting effects that sometimes don’t surface until a week after. So, it’s better to look like yourself going into your wedding day, even if that means a small wrinkle here and there.

Justifying The Juice Cleanse
Between cake tastings, celebratory dinners, and your bachelorette party, you may have noticed that the number on the scale has been slowly inching upward. Know that you are not alone; it’s not uncommon to put on a few pounds when planning. But, that doesn’t mean you should resort to a cleanse or a crash diet. They can leave you feeling jittery, irritable, and weak as your wedding approaches. Do yourself a favor and avoid these drastic diets at all costs. (Plus, you don’t want to be a hangry bride.)

Bringing On The Body Wraps
These treatments promise to help you lose inches and shed pounds. Remember the saying, “If it’s too good to be true, it probably is?” It applies here. While body wraps are absolutely relaxing and can help relieve bloating in a pinch, they can also dehydrate you. If you don’t want dry skin and cracked lips, it’s a better idea to eat well and stay active. Quick fixes are usually hype.

Getting Aggressive At The Gym
Thinking of ramping up your exercise routine right before your wedding? Not the best idea. If you haven’t been working out regularly, start slow. It’s important to speak with your doctor or a certified trainer before doing anything unfamiliar. You should be properly prepared for related muscle fatigue and soreness — not only so you can look good, but so you can walk down the aisle without limping, and dance the night away without wincing in pain every time you throw your hands up in the air.
